The Hunt

I really like how this turned out! It took me three days, on and off (a total of maybe....7? 8? hours) to finish this. It probably would have only been one or two, but my computer has been really laggy lately, to the point where there's a three to five second delay between my clicking and the appearance of a dot/line/whatever on the image. :\ (That and halfway through I decided I didn't want the owl coming in from the light source --my original plan-- but from the shadows, so I had to move and reshade both the owl and the bunny.)

Oh! I also did something different with this manip. I usually set everything up where it's supposed to be, cut it out and blend it in, then, when everything is finished, slap a color filter on the whole thing (so all the colors 'line up', and so I can get the lighting I want) and blur the background to add perspective. This time, I did the blurring and lighting-coloring at the beginning and did minor color corrections (for blending purposes) on the animals as I worked. What do you guys think? Do the subjects look more a part of their background in this picture than my other ones?

Now, as for inspiration, the sad thing is I pretty much saw the picture of the rabbit and thought "Oh, what a cute little bunny! Let me sic a big, evil looking owl on it!" (Well, not at first maybe, but that was more or less what went through my head when I found the owl stock as well.)
